Teachers can create customized student groups and import or export student results. Compatible with Audiobus 3.0 for expanded sound and recording possibilities.

Comprehensive. Rhythm Lab patterns are not limited to single patterns, but also include double patterns, drum patterns (left/right snare exercises), or three-part drumkit patterns (hi hat, snare, kick). Patterns can range from very simple, such as whole notes, half notes, quarter notes in simple meters, to very complex - with nested tuplets, mixed and irregular time signatures. Rhythm Lab also allows incomplete (pick-up) measures.

Worksheets. The worksheet feature is great for teachers who want to create printable, customized worksheets for students. You have the option of hiding time signatures and barlines, and including open space within measures.

Files. Rhythm Lab allows you to import or export patterns and users in JSON format, a standard data format. Worksheets can be exported in PDF format. Individual rhythm patterns can be imported from MusicXML files. Soundfonts can be imported in .sf2 format.

Documentation. Help documentation is now web-based, and will continue to expand to include video tutorials, FAQs and other documentation as needed.

Notes on off-beats that are swung now have the correct timing value so that all patterns remain consistent with the metronome.
To improve app performance, the Help tab has been removed from the app. Context help is still available on each screen (tap the "?" navigation item on the upper right navigation bar). For more extensive help, see the documentation available on the www.rhythmlab-app.com website.
Custom pattern Web import and export functions have been removed from the app. Custom patterns can still be imported and exported using the file import and export functions, and custom patterns are still available on the www.rhythmlab-app.com as universal links. 4.3.4 10/18/2022 Version 4.3.3 features improved tie drawing, especially for noteheads that are spaced closely together.
Also fixes a bug that prevented thirty-second notes from drawing ties. 4.3.3 10/11/2022 Version 4.3.2 includes some bug fixes:

- Custom Double and Drumkit patterns now load on the Custom screen with a default current voice, so that editing can be performed without crashing or needing to select a voice prior to editing.
- Attempts to rearrange or delete patterns in a Custom Set that is currently active on the Tap Screen will be given a warning alert. Active Custom Pattern Sets cannot be edited until removed from the Tap Screen.
- All four pattern types with incomplete measures now lay out and play back properly.

Version 4.3.2 also adds the ability to add or remove accents from notes directly from the edit context menu on the Custom Screen. 4.3.2 10/05/2022 Bug Fix: V. 4.3.1 fixes a bug that affected layout of incomplete measures (pick-up measure) on the Tap Screen. 4.3.1 08/23/2022 Version 4.3.0 adds a Swing function with variable swing ratio!
Version 4.3.0 also improves note spacing for incomplete measures and allows for incomplete measures for both the first and last measures in a pattern.
Version 4.3.0 adds an Accent function - add accents to notes in a custom pattern. The playback (Listen) mode plays the accented notes more loudly than surrounding notes.
Version 4.3.0 adds MIDI note velocity response so that notes can be played dynamically louder or softer when using a MIDI keyboard as input.
Version 4.3.0 also has a few minor bug fixes. 4.3.0 08/21/2022 Version 4.2.1 fixes some bugs where certain MusicXML patterns (usually double) were not importing correctly.
Version 4.2.1 fixes a bug where loading certain incorrect or incomplete MusicXML files caused the app to crash. 4.2.1 08/12/2022 Version 4.2.0 adds the ability to import MusicXML files in compressed (.mxl) format in addition to uncompressed .musicXML and .xml formats, and to import a MusicXML file into the Tap screen, ready to tap.
Version 4.2.0 fixes some bugs with beam editing and changing time signatures in a pattern. 4.2.0 08/11/2022 Bug fixes, autolayout fix. Rare crash when creating or loading some custom pattern sets now resolved / fixed. 4.1.9 08/05/2022 Version 4.1.8 - bug fixes:
1. Worksheet export now clears the page of unused image frames (rectangles with dashed outlines) if the page contains fewer than four pattern images.
